*All computers have copies of Adobe Creative Suite. PCs have copies of Autodesk software.

*MICA currently has 4 licenses for ToonBoom, Storyboard Pro and 2 licenses of ToonBoom Harmony. These licenses live on the PC's in BR214.

*Pens for Cintiqs are available for check out at MICA A/V Art Tech (see below)

Animation Equipment Rental Policies:

Default equipment rental period is 48 hours. Students may renew equipment for upto 3 days without an extension request form. Extension request forms can be found both in the Main Animation Office and at the AV Services Tech Desk. These forms must be approved and signed by either Adam Davies, Manager or Stephanie Williams, Faculty.

Recommended specifications for new Apple/Macintosh computers:

13" MacBook Pro

  • Apple M1 chip with 8‑core CPU 

  • 16GB of RAM 

  • 512GB solid state drive

 

16" MacBook Pro

  •  Intel 6-Core i7 processor 

  • 16GB of RAM 

  • 512GB solid state drive

  • AMD Radeon Pro 5300M

 

Please note: The 16" MacBook Pro is recommended for students planning to major in Film & Video, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, and Product Design. Additionally, as the MacBook Pros use the newer USB-C ports for I/O connectivity, the purchase of a USB to USB-C adapter is recommended.

Important Notes

  • Support plans for computers are highly recommended
